Contd.. Fridge Magnets

Hello,

Back again with the rest of the magnets. Not going to talk much.Forgot to tell you that almost all the magnets are sealed with mod-podge, so they last a while.Let's see how well they weather the elements.:-)

Paint, stamping, Dimensional magic, Pattern paper, Glossy Accents

This is my favourite and not my original idea.I had seen some magnets with burlap bags and stuffed with flowers during my visit to Malaysia, so I tried to do the same using some lace scrap and some leftover paper/fabric thingy that came with a flower bouquet..I decided to attach the bag to a larger piece though.

Wooden heart, punched flowers, paint, perfect pearls

Die cut from a paper collection, and some beads and charms

This is the last one. This was my attempt at being funny.Tell me if you get the joke.My husband didn't.lol.Paint, dimensional magic, glossy accents, image from the internet.

And,that's the end of my post.Hope you like these.

Cheers

Fridge Magnets -Part 1

Hiya folks,

Quick post to share some magnets that I made for a local swap organized by Swap Central. We were to make 10 fridge magnets. The minimum size was to be 3 by 3, so these are fairly big magnets.I had a lot of fun making them.I am totally going to make some more, just a bit smaller though.

So, here are the first five I made. The other five will be in the next post since I do not want to overwhelm you guys with too many pics.:-).Here we go then,

This has chalkboard paint over it,so my partner can write little notes on it.

This one has seed beads around the butterfly

This is just some pattern paper and mettalic stickers which I covered with distress paints

These are layered hearts that I cut out of chipboard.Tried some mixed media here. The background has stamping, inking, gesso, etc and is covered with gold glitter dimensional magic.

This is kind of simple.Nothing great done here.Just wanted to use my new die.In hindsight,I should have done some more work on this.I did cover the whole diecut and butterfly with rock candy crackle paint and used some perfect pearls.I am not happy with this one,to tell you the truth.

Okay so that's it for today, do check out my next post, if you like, to see the rest of them,

Till then,

Adios,
Pallavi

Color,flowers,Sequins

Hello,

I am back again with another canvas.Okay, before I show you what it looks like, I must say that it might look very similar to the other canvas that I made here. There is a reason behind that, the dressform canvas has been snagged by my friend and I loved the colours that I used there a lot, so I have tried to create another one with a somewhat similar background. No, I am not in a rut, is what I wanted to convey.:-)

Anyhow, here it is. I made this as an inspiration project for Crafter's corner blog. This month we are showcasing distress paints and Crafter's workshop templates, so I figured what better way than to create an altered canvas.

Super bright and colourful, right? I just went nuts with the flowers here.I have to admit it took me a while to get the background right.Too much fiddling, spraying, covering up with gesso etc happened till I was fairly okay with it.I busted out my Colorwash sprays for this which i have been hoarding for a year I think.:-)

I used some sequins on this one inspired by the Let's Get trendy now! 3 theme for day 2 -Sequins..I tried not to go overboard with those.lol

Here are some closeups

Hope you like this.Would love to hear from you.

Goodbye Shabby,Hello Vintage!

Hello,

Question for the few people who follow this blog. Are you fed up with all the pinks and the blues and the flowers already? If your answer is yes, then you might like today's project.:-)

This is my DT project for the June challenge for Crafter's Corner blog. The theme this time, is gift wrapping ideas/boxes/bags etc and you need to create a coordinating tag.We also had to use distress paints/stains and stencils. This is what I made.

It's a gift box which I learned how to make from a tutorial here.It was easy and fast to make. Now, you want to know where the tag is, right? Or maybe you don't.I will still tell you though.Remember my blog and all that stuff.

Here is the tag.Ta da!

The tag is the decoration for the box too and is attached to the belly band with a magnet. You can remove it and write whatever you want at the back and fix it back in.There's some stencilling on the box as well as the tag and distress stains in vintage photo and Antique Bronze on the tag.I tried layering this time which is a bit scary for me, but I think I managed okay. What do you think?

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

Cheers

Fastest tag I ever made and some self admiration

Hello,

First of all I want to brag a little bit.I am allowed, right, considering this is my blog.

So, my projects won/made the top three at two challenges.Yay! First one was at Tsunami Rose Designs Challenge Blog for my White and sparkly card and at Whimsical designs blog for my Altered Embroidery hoop.

Okay so now that is done with,on to other things.Did I tell you how big a procrastinator I am? Yes,that's true.I have a tendency to get bored very easily and get distracted ALL the time. Here's a story. I was given the honour to be a Guest designer for Artists's week at Down the Memory lane blog.I did do a project specifically for them, but then I submitted it for another challenge and after discussion with Nupur, did not think it was fair to showcase the same thing at million different places. All this thought process occured on the very day that I had to send in the pics of course. Not surprisingly, I already had deadlines for two other projects, so I had to whip up something in a jiffy and here is what I came up with.

I think I was done in 20 minutes excluding the die cutting and drying time. The window thingy on the tag is my newest die and an impulse purchase as usual.Have to think of various things to do with it to justify my purchase, so don't blame me if you see them over and over again.Heh heh..

Hope you like this.Let me know if there are any questions.

Cheers
